Assistant Operation Manager

Main Duties

  • Assist Operation Manager to lead team of Duty Managers, Engineers, Supervisors to ensure the provision of timely, effective and quality services to all customers airlines including but not limited to Mainland Chinese Operators and China Airlines
  • Manage effectively and efficiently on different operation units including Maintenance Control Centre, Tool Room etc
  • Oversee the planning and deployment of manpower, tooling, equipment and work flows so as to optimize the operation efficiency at reasonable costs
  • Manage staff development, rostering and training, particularly for CCAR-66 licensed and China Airlines dedicated Engineers, to ensure manpower resource is deployed and managed properly to cope with operation needs
  • Review operation procedures and policies whenever necessary and  ensure the line maintenance operation conforming with established procedures and policies
  • Maintain communication with customers, technical controls and representatives for any engineering assistance or chronic maintenance review
  • Ensure and enforce maintenance and safety policies, procedures and regulations are complied with customers, regulatory authorities and the Company from time to time
  • Keep abreast of the obligations of Maintenance Organisations under the requirements specified by different regulatory authorities from time to time
  • Liaise with customer and/or Quality Assurance Department with regard to incident/event and audit finding investigation
  • Investigate and evaluate staff disciplinary problems and provide recommendations in an objective position
  • Act as main contact for customer representatives for all operation related issues and give prompt reply to customers for critical maintenance problems
  • Promote maintenance culture for the interest of quality and safety
  • Deputize Operation Manager during his / her absence
  • Act as aircraft certifiers in accordance with proper approval and authority granted by regulatory authorities, airlines and the Company when required


  • At least 12 years’ experience in aircraft line maintenance in which 4 years’ in management level
  • Valid license holder of HKAR66 is of advantage and other aircraft maintenance licenses are also considered
  • Valid HK Driving License Classes 1 and 2
  • Good written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Strong leadership, excellent communication skills with ability to intact with all level of people effectively
  • Strong analytical mind with sound organization and presentation skills
  • Pro-active and positive working attitude
