Tuesday, January 14, 2020 – China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) is pleased to announce that it has signed a line maintenance contract for the narrow-body fleet of Cathay Dragon at Hong Kong International Airport. This new agreement will extend CASL’s line maintenance and other operations services to Cathay Dragon’s A321neo fleet, making CASL the center of excellence for the Cathay Pacific Group’s A320 family of aircraft.
CASL will also share digitalized maintenance data with the Cathay Pacific Group, which will help support specific business development initiatives, as well as broader “big data” projects. CASL’s digitalization program will benefit the overall business development of both companies, including but not limited to maintenance and engineering-related projects.
“On behalf of the CASL team, I would like to thank the whole Cathay Dragon team for the trust they have placed in us to provide this service. This further reinforces the long-term partnership we have together. For us, it is very important that we continue to move forward into the future with the A321neo fleet. This latest agreement helps drive CASL’s future development and growth in the long term and our professional team at CASL is ready to meet and exceed Cathay Dragon’s expectations”, said Andreas Meisel, CEO of CASL.
Cathay Pacific’s Director Engineering Neil Glenn said: “We are confident that CASL will deliver these services to a very high standard. We are looking forward to a successful entry into service for the A321neo aircraft, which are set to modernise our narrow-body fleet with improvements in operating efficiency and an enhanced customer experience. CASL will play an important role in ensuring the reliability and operating performance of this new fleet.”
Cathay Dragon is scheduled to take delivery of the first of its 16 A321neo aircraft in the second quarter of 2020. CASL currently provides line maintenance services to eight A320neo or A321neo customers, including HK Express and Air China. The company is expanding its team of qualified engineers for the A320neo and A321neo by strengthening its training regime. The company is also strengthening its inventory of special tools for A320neo and A321neo aircraft, and will launch a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) data-sharing system by the end of this year.
