China Aircraft Services Limited Supports Construction of Third Runway at HKIA
China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) supports the option of expanding Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) as a Three Runway System Airport which outlined in the <<HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MASTER PLAN 2030>>. CASL believes that this option has profound meaning in maintaining Hong Kong aviation industry's long-term development and strengthening Hong Kong’s competitive advantage for the economy as a whole.
CASL was founded in 1995 and employs about 1000 staff. CASL is one of the leading service provides at HKIA to provide comprehensive aircraft maintenance and ground support equipment services. The services CASL providing includes but not limit to: Aircraft Line Maintenance, Aircraft Base Maintenance, Cabin Cleaning, Ground Support Equipment, and Store & Supply Logistic Services. Other than serving its own shareholder airlines, CASL also provides high level of aircraft maintenance and ramp handling services to more than 40 airlines worldwide. Since its establishment, CASL has invested and constructed its own aircraft maintenance hangar at HKIA. For many years, CASL has continuingly employing and training many local talents of all kind to meet the company needs of future development.
The Chief Executive Officer of CASL, Dr. Angus Cheung said, “Hong Kong community should reach a common ground over the option of building a third runway at HKIA at the earliest, to have an all-win balancing situation in the aspects of the overall economy, environmental protection, and the aviation industry development in Hong Kong. This can secure Hong Kong’s leading role in the airline passenger transportation, aviation logistics and aircraft engineering business, and lay a solid foundation strives for Hong Kong's long-term development.”
