CASL welcomes new customer Spring Airlines CASL is pleased to announce that we have expanded technical support to Spring Airlines starting from 16 November 2019. CASL delivers the provision of transit handling, Certificate of Release to Service, Ground Service Equipment, and etc to Spring Airlines. Established in 2004, Spring Airlines is one of the most profitable airlines in the country, operating 90 aircraft with single type of A320CEO/NEO mono-class. Today, Spring Airlines operates 230 routes, with 18 flights per week to Hong Kong International Airport. Spring Airlines owns 1.15% shares of China Southern Airlines, which is one of CASL’s shareholders.
Andreas Meisel Becomes the CEO of China Aircraft Services Limited CASL today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Andreas Meisel as Chief Executive Officer effective immediately, replacing Dr. Angus Cheung who is retiring after 22 years as CEO of CASL. Andreas previously held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer – MRO of Ameco Beijing, which is a joint venture between Air China and Lufthansa. “I am honored to have been elected as CASL’s next CEO and entrusted with this new challenge. It is a privilege to be part of an organization that upholds the high safety standard and delivers exceptional services to the best clients.” said Andreas. It is believed that under the leadership of Andreas, he will lead the company to reach new heights and ensure the organization’s strong momentum continues.
Memorandum of Understanding Signed between CASL and College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) The Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) and College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) was held on 29 August 2019 at the PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus. Dr. Angus Cheung, Chief Executive Officer of CASL, has joined hands with Dr. Simon Leung, The Associate Dean of CPCE and Director of Hong Kong Community College to sign the Memorandum of Understanding in order to further support CPCE to nurture more talents for joining the aircraft maintenance, aircraft engineering and related fields. The memorandum with effect from September 1 for a period of three years, including the following aspects: i. Co-supervising students’ final year projects; ii. Providing student internship opportunities, guest talks and company visits; and iii. Providing part-time / full-time job opportunities to students related to aircraft maintenance, planning, technical services, design, QA, safety, inventory, etc.
CASL staff striking at HKIA Cup Match 2019 Bowling Championship The HKIA Cup Match 2019 Bowling Championship organised by The Staffs & Workers Union of Hong Kong Civil Airlines was held on 28 July 2019 at the South China Athletic Association. Our CASL staff CHAN Siu Kei (Ground Services Equipment), NG Tung Chuen (Line Maintenance), TSE Po Keung (Line Maintenance) and VONG Chi Shun (Line Maintenance) participated in the “Super Category” and enjoyed a fun day striking out at the championship.
Visit by HKIAA Summer Camp Participants CASL is delighted to welcome back over 50 visitors who participated in the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA)'s 5-day summer camp on 26 July 2019. They all enjoyed learning more about the aircraft maintenance industry and prospective career path.
